The Springbank Distillery is one of the last remaining distilleries producing Campbeltown single malt whiskies. The distillery is located on the southern Kintyre Peninsula and produces three different single malt whiskies. The Hazelburn is the youngest variety and was only distilled for the first time in 1997. This ten year old version is the successor to the eight year old and, together with the twelve year old whisky, forms the core range of Hazelburn. The bottle comes in a rather simple cardboard box. The bottle itself is also just as a bottle of whisky should be, not too difficult. All the more pleasing is that the whisky itself is really very tasty and, in relation to the price and appearance, very good. The Hazelburn 10 is a three times distilled, un-peated,
non chill filtered whisky. There is also no caramel added. This explains the light golden yellow colour of the whisky. The Hazelburn 10 is in my opinion a very nice whisky to have in your assortment. It is also nice to give this bottle as a gift to someone who can appreciate a good whisky. The look of the packaging and the bottle are quite simple. However, the drink itself is very tasty and the price-quality ratio is very good as far as I am concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hazelburn 10 has a rather sweet aroma. It is matured in bourbon casks and you can smell that. The many fruit tones give a nice counterbalance to the full and sweet character of the whisky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Taste<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    A rich whisky with flavours of vanilla, honey and liquorice. The Hazelburn 10 has a sweet, but sharp edge and it is a refined whisky with spice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Verdict<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The Hazelburn 10 has an alcohol content of 46%. This in combination with the taste and the smell, this is a nice whisky for someone who can appreciate a good non-standard whisky. If you want to enjoy an evening drinking whisky, this is for me a real recommendation. I think I have already said that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      DISTILLERY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      The J & A distillery is the oldest distillery in Scotland and was founded in 1828. It is located on the Kintyre peninsula. This distillery is unique in that all parts of the production process, from malting to bottling, are carried out on one site. It is the only distillery to produce three different single malts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
